On Wednesday, August 24th, join Citizens for Access Rights (CfAR) and Hamptons Drive-In for a Family Outdoor Movie Night at Maidstone Park Ball Field in East Hampton.
“We love hosting our annual family movie night,” shared Nicole Castillo, CFAR Board. “It’s a great way to continue to raise awareness about maintaining public beach access, while enjoying a great movie outdoors in the summertime.”
The evening will feature a screening of Steven Spielberg’s Raiders of the Lost Ark. The classic follows renowned archeologist and adventurer, Dr. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford), who is tasked by the U.S. Government to find the Ark of the Covenant, which is thought to still store the Ten Commandments. It’s no simple trek, as agents of Hitler are also on the hunt for the Ark. During the high action film, Indy, and his ex-beau Marion (Karen Allen), are constantly finding their way out of close encounters with the enemy during the exploration that takes them from Nepal to Cairo.
Gates to the Family Outdoor Movie Night will open at 7:30 p.m. and the viewing will begin at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for non-members and free for 2016 CfAR members. Attendees may bring beach chairs and blankets, and snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase. Guests may not bring in outside food or beverages.
All proceeds from the event will support CfAR’s mission of protecting East End beach access, as well as to defend the current lawsuit affecting the stretch of beach on Napeague.
The rain date is August 31st.
