Chelsea Katz

One of this year's feature films is "The Sound of Music" with Julie Andrews. In year's past, Guild Hall has showed films like "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark." (Photos: Guild Hall.)

Guild Hall will be alive with the sound of music on Friday, August 2nd as it screens the 1965 musical adaptation in partnership with The East Hampton Historical Society at Mulford Farm.

"The Sound of Music" tells the tale of a nun, Maria (Julie Andrews) who is sent to take care of General VonTrapp's (Christopher Plummer) children in Nazi Austria. The children become a family singing group and must decide whether or not to abide by the Nazi regime. The show of music, love and family has graced stages and movie screens all over the world.

This year they will also be screening The Beatles' "Abbey Road" on Sunday, August 25th and "What is a Heart?" on Tuesday, August 27th. This is not Guild Hall's first film at the farm, in the past they have showed Steven Spielberg's "E.T." and "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Admission is $5 and free to those 5 and under. Student Rush tickets will not be available.

Mulford Farm is located at 10 James Lane in East Hampton.
