“For over twenty years, the Student Art Festival has helped nurture and encourage young talent on the East End,” noted Ruth Appelhof, Executive Director at Guild Hall. Starting on Saturday, January 17th, the Gallery at the East Hampton Museum will be covered from floor to ceiling salon-style with over 3,500 works from local budding artists.
Schools from Bridgehampton to Montauk participate in the annual festival, which is celebrating its 23rd year. Part I of the exhibition features the works of students in pre-school, elementary and middle school, while Part II features the work of high school students.
“This event celebrates the artistic pursuits of our local young people by exhibiting their work in a museum environment and performing in a professional theater,” said Appelhof. “We applaud their teachers who inspire, nurture and continue to cultivate the creative process.”
Part I will debut on Saturday, January 17th, and is on view until Sunday, February 22nd. An Opening Reception will take place on Saturday, January 24th from 2 to 4 p.m. Part II will open on Saturday, March 7th, and is on display until Sunday, April 12th.
