Children ages five and up will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting demonstration at the Water Mill Museum. The hands-on-milling experience will take place now through August 7th, 2014 and is free. The lesson in engineering and waterpower shows how life was possible for the early colonists. Kids will not only have fun but also leave with a little bit of new knowledge.
During the class, participants will discover the workings of the mill, help sift the ground corn, get their own ‘grain bag’, and learn about local colonial history. Demonstrations will take place every Monday and Thursday, at 11:30 a.m. Registration is required.
The Water Mill Museum is located at 41 Old Mill Road in Water Mill. For more information, call 631-726-4625 or visit watermillmuseum.org.
