"Under The Influence" Opens At Sag Harbor Whaling Museum

The Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum is debuting its newest exhibition, "Under the Influence" on Friday, June 20, 2014. The exhibit, which was curated by Peter J. Marcelle, will run through Tuesday, July 8, 2014.

"Under the Influence" explores the relationship between nine contemporary artists and the artists who have inspired them. The show features Terry Elkins with Andrew Wyeth, Eric Ernst with William Baziotes, Cornelia Foss with Larry Rivers, Steve Miller with Andy Warhol, Michelle Murphy with Jamie Wyeth, Dan Rizzie with Donald Sultan, Stephen Schaub with Alfred Stieglitz, Mike Viera with Eric Fischl and Gavin Zeigler with William Scharf.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 20, at the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum from 6 to 8 p.m. All sales from the exhibit benefit the Museum.
