For many, nothing will put them in the holiday spirit quicker than listening to some uplifting seasonal tunes.
On Sunday, November 17, Romany Kramoris Gallery
in Sag Harbor will host an enchanting gathering that will no doubt leave attendees feeling merry. From 3 to 4:30 p.m., Magic Holiday Music
will commemorate The Choral Society of the Hamptons
' holiday season with an open reception that will encompass live music, art, and poetry.
For its 2019 season, the Society and Mark Mangini
, Conductor and the Society's Music Director, commissioned David Brandenburg, composer, sound designer, music director, and former Society Executive Director, to compose a special composition, Dancing: Variations,
with the lyrics of Sag Harbor resident Kathryn Levy's poem. The spectacular work of art will be featured during Magic Holiday Music
, as will paintings by Adriana Barone.
Barone's watercolors are "images of sparse petals and flowers floating through endless white space" that evoke "transparent winds blowing flower petals into the sky after racing through the green."
"A perfect blending of the three arts - each one expressing the other," Romany Kramoris
, Romany Kramoris Gallery Founder, shared about the soiree.
The afternoon will also include festive complimentary bites, bubbly and other sips.
In addition to the informal reception benefit, Romany Kramoris Gallery will champion The Choral Society of the Hamptons by donating a percentage of the season's sales to the Society. Additionally, chances can be purchased for one of Barone's paintings in support of the benefit.
The Choral Society of the Hamptons, an auditioned chorus that features a professional music director, soloists, an orchestra, and accompanists, was founded in 1946 by Charlotte Rogers Smith
, a local church choir director. On Sunday, December 8, the Society will spread even more holiday cheer during 'Tis the Season: Offerings of Celebration and Renewal Old and New
at Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church
(2429 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton). There will be two opportunities to experience the Society's musical magic, at 3 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m.
