If winter boredom has seriously set in, and you’re looking for something worthy of leaving the house for during yet another round of arctic chill, the 12th annual Cabin Fever Music Festival kicks off on Friday, February 1.
“We are very excited for this year’s Festival! We added some great new acts, as well as some returning favorites,” Brendon Henry, who co-founded the Festival with Seth Farrell and Paul Fallo, shared. “This will be the 12th season and we will be featured in nine venues including the Legendary Stephen Talkhouse on Saturday, February 9.”
This year’s Festival will take music lovers to venues from Center Moriches all the way to Amagansett.
“I really feel like this year there is music for everyone, whether you prefer acoustic, hip hop, punk, folk, reggae, or rock n roll, we have something for you,” Henry noted. “This has always been a labor of love for all of us, and to see the community so pumped up after all these years is so cool!”
The opening night event will feature Satchel Boogie and The Mud Show at the Southampton Publick House at 9 p.m., while Saturday, February 2 will bring the Festival to the North Sea Tavern where Yoga Pants, An Old Friend, and The Tweekers will headline, starting at 9 p.m.
The following weekend, Bryan Gallo and his band, Necter, and Foster Europe Band will perform at Buckley’s Irish Pub (in Center Moriches) on Friday, February 8 at 9 p.m. and on Saturday, February 9, The Realm and Project Vibe will honor Bob Marley during a birthday celebration at the Stephen Talkhouse, starting at 8 p.m.
The live music continues on Friday, February 15 with an acoustic night at Cowfish featuring The Encore Machines, Craig Whitney, and Kavin Saboe, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 16 will feature Bad Mary, Adam’s Atoms, and Black Leaf at Mill Road House, starting at 9 p.m.
“We try to keep it open for everyone looking to escape the doldrums of the East End in February,” Henry explained.
The final weekend will encompass three opportunities to attend. On Friday, February 22, catch Liam Meany and Wandering Time at Doran’s at 9 p.m. Saturday will bring Dr. Eamz and Souliztik to the stage at Buckley’s Inn Between (in Hampton Bays) at 9 p.m. and Cabin Fever will wrap up on Sunday, February 24 with sets from Flack Jacket, No Lives, Haunted Hacienda, Old Ironsides, and The Shipwrecks at 230 Down at 4 p.m.
“It all kicks off with Satchel Boogie and The Mud Show at the Southampton Publick House at 9 p.m.!” Henry concluded.
