The Choral Society of the Hamptons is currently searching for local singers to accompany them during the Society’s highly anticipated spring concert. Auditions will take place on Monday, January 30th at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church.
“We’re excited that Walter Klauss, acclaimed choral director and organist, will guest conduct this concert,” explained David M. Brandenburg, Executive Director of the Choral Society of the Hamptons. “The program will feature the East Hampton Presbyterian Church’s organ, which he calls, ‘the finest three manual pipe organ on this end of Long Island.'”
The Society’s spring concert will take place on Sunday, March 26th and feature Pergolesi’s Magnificat, Laudes Organi by Kodály, and Trois Motets by Roger-Ducasse.
Singers are asked to prepare a brief musical presentation. “The audition will include a one to two minute piece of the singer’s choice with or without piano accompaniment, and sight reading,” explained Brandenburg. Leading up to the performance, the Society will hold rehearsals on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Auditions are by request only. To reserve an audition slot, call 631-204-9402.
