Artists Alliance Of East Hampton Returning To Ashawagh Hall For Fall Show

Following the success of its inaugural Virtual Summer Show, the Artists Alliance of East Hampton (AAEH) will hold its first “live” exhibition of the season this autumn.

“The Artists Alliance of East Hampton is a not for profit organization whose mission is to support and strengthen the creative community on the East End,” Mary Milne, AAEH Board of Directors President, noted. “During a more normal year, we strive to provide the opportunity for the artists to display their work by organizing four shows each year. This year was different in so many ways.”

The Artists Alliance of East Hampton’s Fall Show will be held on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4 at Ashawagh Hall in East Hampton.

“The Alliance had its first show of the year on Martin Luther King weekend in January,” Milne shared. “After that, due to the pandemic we had to cancel our traditional spring and summer shows.”

Milne continued, “We organized our first virtual show in August. The artists responded terrifically to that opportunity as they were dealing with the pandemic and glad for a distraction and a reason to get back to their artwork. This Fall Show is our first in person show since the Covid restrictions have eased. We will be abiding by social distancing and mask requirements.”

The Fall Show will feature works from Jerry Schwabe, Mary Milne, Kenna Mackay, Lynn Martell, Arthur Koby, Richard Mothes, Sarah Amaden, Phyllis Chillingworth, Janet Rojas, Barbara Bilotta, Veronica Mahoney, Joan Santos, Laurie Hall, Walter Schwab, Cynthia Loewen, Mark E. Zimmerman, Deborah Palmer, Laura Hill, Alyssa Peek, Marie Lombardi, Casey Chalem Anderson, Teresa Lawler, Karen Kirshner, Frank Sofo, Susan Malfa, Setha Low, Rosa Scott, Ursula Thomas, Anna Franklin, Bob Wilson, Bob Sullivan, Beth Barry and Nadine Daskaloff.

“The works displayed cover landscapes through modern art, sculptures, paintings, photography, and glass,” Milne said. “I think many of the artists are looking forward to reigniting the many friendships they have made meeting other artists as well as visitors at these shows.”

Participating artists will have one or two works highlighted and bins will be available for perusing.

“Due to Covid however, we are not having an opening reception which will be missed We hope for a good crowd and look forward to once again displaying artwork in the gallery setting. Ashawagh Hall is a wonderful venue,” she concluded.

Additionally, a limited-edition poster, “Autumn in Central Park” by Anna Franklin, will be for sale for $30.

The exhibition will be on view from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
