One of the most beloved summer pastimes in the Hamptons is Market Art + Design where galleries from around the world feature some talented work from a variety of mediums. This year is expected to be even better than the last. Aced Gallery is a New Jersey based gallery that is returning yet again to Market Art + Design from Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 7. This year, Aced Gallery has tailored their show to the Hamptons crowd with works from Gregory Siff, Guy Stanley, Flore, and COPE.
Aced Gallery is known as: “Where Creativity meets Innovation – Redefining the Visual Experience.” They carry a variety of cutting edge contemporary art.
We caught up with Owner & Creative Director of Aced Gallery, Michael Cassiliano, to learn about their upcoming presence at Market Art + Design.
Can you tell me a bit about why Aced Gallery is exhibiting work by Gregory Siff and Guy Stanley? How do you think these artists’ work will stand apart from others at Art Market + Design?
MC: Aced Gallery is truly honored to represent such creative minds like Gregory Siff and Guy Stanley. Both of these artists pull inspiration from the greats like Basquiat and Warhol which will hit home for Hamptons collectors. They also play on nostalgia and positivity which shine in the pieces Aced will be exhibiting.
Gregory Siff’s signature “storyboards” flow across the canvas with fragments of imagery which brings viewers into the artist’s life. Each icon is like a piece of DNA which provides a window into Siff’s emotional and creative state. This deep connection with the viewer gives a one-of-a-kind experience for art enthusiasts.
We will also be exhibiting pieces from Guy Stanley’s most recent series “Come Fly with Me” where the artist uses imagery such as paper planes and two dollar bills in the spirit of nostalgia. His lush surfaces were inspired by the buildup of city walls – thick with pieces of wheatpasted posters, advertisements, and graffiti. His layering technique has created paintings so richly textured that one can hardly hold back from reaching out and touching the canvas. In fact, it is the artist’s intent and wish that the viewer will follow their desire to reach out and feel the different textures of his canvases.
In addition we will be featuring amazing pieces from DAIN, Flore, Daniel Cohen, The producer BDB, Robert Mars, Cope, Seekone, Mr. Debonair, Westbay, Kaws, and Jared Schwalb.
I see that Aced Gallery has worked with The Boys and Girls Club of America and DuPont Registry in Boca Raton. Why is philanthropy so important to the Gallery?
MC: Giving back has been a big part of the Aced mission. Working with the Boys and Girls Club of America and Dupont Registry is special as these organizations help young people in need reach their full potential. Aced has also partnered with Sunrise Day Camp, Bully Proof Project, and Toys for Tots supporting their charitable goals.
What’s something Aced Gallery is looking forward to in the next year?
MC: Currently we are laser focused on our Hamptons show riding our momentum from Miami Art Basel where we racked up three awards including Spotlight Gallery. We have a few really cool projects in the near future such as big NY Murals, Nordstrom Events, and some surprises for Art Basel Miami.
