The fifth annual The Barn Show,
presented by Johannes Vogt Gallery, will debut on Saturday, July 6. The yearly Hamptons summer group show will once again be held at a former potato farm barn on a private property in East Hampton.
"For the fifth consecutive year New York City
's Johannes Vogt Gallery is hosting a comprehensive group show of contemporary artists at an old potato farm barn in East Hampton," Johannes Vogt, gallery founder, shared.
Over 30 artists will be featured in this year's The Barn Show,
with works encompassing a wide variety of mediums - ranging from figurative and abstract painting to radical sculptures. For the annual exhibition, Vogt seeks to present a survey of contemporary art, while playing upon the unique locale of the show.
The 2019 iteration will boast extraordinary pieces from Derrick Adams, Tunji Adeniyi-Jones, Monica Banks, Agnes Barley, Gina Beavers, Coady Brown, Eric Brown, Lex Brown, Lucy Bull, Ben Butler, Dominic Chambers, Graham Collins, Adriane Connerton, Luke Diiorio, Austin Eddy, Robin F Williams, Kareem Ferreira, Saskia Friedrich, Paul Gardere, Evan Halter, Elizabeth Hazan, Kent Henricksen, Stephanie Hier, Alexander Kroll, Brittney Leeanne Williams, Abby Leigh, Donna Moylan, Jordan Nassar, Margaux Ogden, Madeleine Pfull, Umar Rashid (Frohawk Two Feathers), Bastienne Schmidt
, Vaughn Spann, Karin Waisman, Maria Zerres, and Almond
"Highlights this year include Gina Beavers whose spectacular exhibition is on view currently at MoMA PS 1, Derrick Adams who was just awarded the prestigious Rauschenberg Residency, as well as the East Coast premiere for Australian painter Madeleine Pfull," Vogt noted.
Johannes Vogt Gallery first opened in Chelsea, but then relocated to the Lower East Side. In September 2018, the gallery relocated again, this time to the Upper East Side. Its mission is to "bring attention to the complex artistic and cultural ties that bind New York to Europe, the Americas, and beyond."
There will be an opening reception on Saturday, July 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. and the exhibition is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 6 p.m. or by appointment. The Barn Show
will be on view through Sunday, July 28.
