The Ninth Annual Art Groove, a vibrant merging of musical, performance and visual art, will take over Ashawagh Hall in Springs on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14.
“This will be the biggest Art Groove yet with 21 participating artists, including distinguished sculptor Hans Van de Bovenkamp, David Geiser, American painter and underground comix creator and former New York Times illustrator, Charles Waller,” Geralyne Lewandowski, Art Groove Founder, relayed.
The Art Groove Collective, which will be on view both days, will highlight pieces from Beth Barry, Laura Benjamin, Barbara Bilotta, Rosalind Brenner, Michael Cardacino, Nadine Daskaloff, Paul Dempsey, David Geiser, Pearl Golden, Phyllis Hammond, Joan Kraisky, Frank Latorre, Geralyne Lewandowski, Michael McDowell, Jim McGarvey, Joyce Riamondo, Sarah Turnbull Jaffe, Hans Van De Bovenkamp, Charles Waller, Josephine Wojtusiak, and Mark Zimmerman.
An Opening Reception will take on Saturday, April 13 from 6 to 11 p.m. The gathering will include live music by “The King Bees,” a Rhythm and Blues band featuring Grammy winner Frank Latorre. A dance party featuring DJ G-Funk’s amazing dance mix will follow.
The final day will bring The “Heart” of Art Groove, an Afternoon Tea Dance and exclusive Art Sale to benefit the Ellen Hermanson Breast Cancer Foundation, from 3 to 6 p.m. “I’ve expanded day two to include a fun Afternoon Tea Dance and exclusive Art Show/Sale to benefit the Ellen Hermanson Foundation,” Lewandowski noted. “I’m calling it The HEART of Art Groove. Over 50 participating artists!”
Lewandowski has enlisted some of the Hamptons’ premiere artists for the benefit show. Participating artists will include Hans Van de Bovenkamp, Connie Fox, Stephanie Brody-Lederman, Darlene Charneco, Charles Waller, Gabriele Raacke, David Geiser, Abby Abrams, Sydney Albertini, Ty Stroudsburg, Andrea Cote, Jerry Cooke, Sage Cotignola, Gerry Giliberti, Claudia Dunn, Teresa Lawler, Dennis Lawrence, Joel Lefkowitz, Dalton Portella, Barry Sayewitz, Ty Stroudsburg, Laura Timpanaro, Sarah Turnbull Jaffe, Athos Zacharias, Geralyne Lewandowski, Anahi DeCanio, Michael McDowell, Joyce Riamondo, Laura Benjamin, Rosalind Brenner, Barbara Bilotta, Frank Latorre, Beth Barry, Teri Kennedy, Michael Cardacino, Paul Dempsey, Nadine Daskaloff, Pearl Golden, Joan Kraisky, Michael Knigin, Jim McGarvey, Joyce Riamondo, Josephine Wojtusiak, Lewis Zacks, Walter Us, Phyllis Hammond, Ursula Thomas, Barbara Groot, and Kat O’Neill. 50 percent of the sales from the Art Show/Sale will be donated to The Ellen Hermanson Foundation’s Ellen’s Well.

The two-day pop up brings out nearly 300 attendees each year and Lewandowski expects just as big of a turnout for the 2019 exhibition.
Art Groove will be on display on Saturday, April 13 from 12 to 11 p.m. and Sunday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
