"I was thinking of passing this year on the show but many of the artists have reached out for participation and thanks to Kathryn Markel for making her gallery space available to me to do this," Karyn Mannix of karyn mannix contemporary relayed.
The 2019 iteration will feature over 30 artists from across the country, who will be showcasing photography, painting, mixed media, and sculpture.
"As ever, the works that are coming in are of high quality. I have two jurors who are helping make the final decision on the pieces that will be shown," Mannix explained. :I am quite limited to space and this works best." She enlisted art dealer James Bacchi from ArtHaus San Francisco, and Susannah Perlman from ArtHouseNYC to serve as jurors of Love & Passion: Decadence of Distortion
The two day exhibition will boast works from Alex Vignoli, Alicia Gitlitz, Caroline Kaplowitz, Christina Stow, Dell Cullum, Donna Bernstein, Donna Corvi, Durrell Godfrey, Erin Simmons, Georgia Griffin, Cindy Press, Steve Haweeli
, Gerard Giliberti, Jackie Fuchs
, Rosalind Brenner
, Jody Gambino, Joyce Kubat, Karen L. Kirshner, Leslie Singer, Lianne Alcon, Mac Titmus, Michael Cardacino
, Rick Gold, and more.
"I found that this year's topic 'Decadence of Distortion' hit a sensitive spot with people. We have all been out with friends, colleagues, or relatives that are on the phone and missing the personal connection that is happening at the present moment. I hope during this show that everyone is interacting with one another," Mannix said. "I should put a bowl by the door for everyone to drop their cell phone in to so they can actually communicate with a real human being in real time and not wait for a like or a share. I have nothing against modern technology at all, but I like to see the passion in another's face when they talk about what they love. And on opening night it is about the love of the art and its artists. Always a wonderful night out."

Opening Reception will take place on Saturday, March 9 from 5 to 8 p.m.
"Last year, I found two new artists that I now bring to art fairs across the country with me. I urge other art dealers to come to the show where there is a lot of hidden undiscovered talent," Mannix added.
