The Southampton Artists Association's (SAA) annual Memorial Day Show
will return to Levitas Center for the Arts at the Southampton Cultural Center on Wednesday, May 23 and remain on view through Sunday, June 3.
"We have a very big show this year with 55 artists displaying over 150 pieces," noted Danielle Leef, a SAA board member. "This fine art show includes local artists whose works range in photography, oils, acrylics, watercolors, mixed media and sculptures."

"This is a great opportunity to find wonderful art at a reasonable cost," Leef added. "We also have bin items for sale."
SAA is composed of professional and amateur artists that reside on both the South Fork and the North Fork.
"These dedicated artists show a wide range of style, with several award winning artists among them," shared Dom Lamontanoro, PhD, SAA President.
The not for profit organization was founded in 1989 to provide local residents with an opportunity to highlight their masterpieces in a professional setting. SAA presents four shows annually, including the Late Winter Show, Memorial Day Show, Labor Day Show
and the Fall Show
. Artists may also be selected to have their works showcased at the Town Hall in Southampton throughout the year. Additionally, SAA is responsible for two outdoor shows: Art-in-the-Park in July and the SouthamptonFest exhibition in October. Both are held at Agawam Park.

Those interested in getting into the arts can take one of SAA's painting classes or all media workshops. SAA also champions budding artists with yearly scholarships for local high school students.
An opening reception for the Memorial Day Show
will take place on Saturday, May 26 from 4 to 6 p.m., while the closing reception will be held on Saturday, June 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. Admission to both events is free and they are open to the public.
