Calling all student artists that have a soft spot in their heart for their fur baby. Bideawee, a leading animal welfare and pet adoption organization serving metropolitan New York and Long Island, is looking for artwork to feature in its 10th annual Love Your Pet Art Contest.
“For the past ten years, we’ve had the privilege of receiving hundreds of paintings, drawings, sculptures and photography from Long Island’s talented young artists,” said Amy Brostoff, Director of Marketing at Bideawee. “We enjoy helping young pet lovers cultivate their artistic culture, and look forward to all of the submissions we’ll receive this year.”
First through eighth graders may enter artwork in any medium (drawings, paintings, sculptures, etc.), while 9th through 12th grades can submit photography to the Love Your Pet Art Contest.
“We hope that our Long Island neighbors will support the students and Bideawee by attending the Art Expo and voting on artwork submissions,” said Brostoff.
The younger students must mail or drop off their artwork at Bideawee’s Westhampton Adoption Center (118 Old Country Road) prior to Monday, February 5.
Love Your Pet Art Contest entries can be submitted online, and voting for top honors will take place Tuesday, February 6 through Friday, February 16. Winners will be announced on Saturday, February 20.
The first 300 entries will be highlight during Bideawee’s Art Expo located at the Adoption Center on Saturday, February 10 and Sunday, February 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as on Monday, February 12 through Friday, February 16 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission to the Art Expo is a $5 donation that will support care for the pets in need at Bideawee.
