Does your work exude fun? Enter East End Arts
Gallery's open call for its upcoming non-juried, all media Elizabeth Richard Memorial Annual Members' Show
, which will premiere on Friday, January 26. Artists must showcase their representation of the show's theme - fun.
"Sometimes creating art is torture (ask Giacometti), other times, when the 'muse' is cooperative, the art just flows through the hands of the artist onto paper, canvas, clay etc. Instead of a struggle, making art becomes fun," East End Arts Gallery
Director Jane Kirkwood explained about the show's theme.
"Depicting 'fun' is another way to approach this theme. So whether your art is about fun, or you just had a fun creating it, (providing it's within the size parameters) consider entering this non juried members' show."
All are welcome to submit work, which ensures participation in this non-juried show. However, the one requirement is that artists become a member of East End Arts before or at the time of drop-off. The work must be original and can have a maximum dimension of 14 inches wide and 30 inches high, including the frame. All wall art must be wired for hanging and should be 5 lbs. or less. Sculptures shall not exceed over 14 inches wide in any direction and should weigh less than 30 lbs. Poets are also permitted to enter a piece, which must be framed (should not exceed 14 inches wide) and wired for hanging.
Entries must be dropped off at The East End Arts Gallery (133 East Main Street, Riverhead) on Thursday, January 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, January 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Saturday, January 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The White Room
Gallery (2415 Main Street, Bridgehampton) is also presenting an open call for painters, mixed media artists, photographers and sculptors to participate in Flow
, an exhibition that will debut on Friday, January 26.
"We had so much fun and met so many great artists with What the Hell?
Juried show that we decided to do it again. This time we are looking for movement," the Gallery explained. "How's that for open-ended? If it moves the viewer at the same time even better. Fluidity not Rigidity."
Pieces can be no larger than 36 inches wide, with no height restriction.
The submission deadline is Thursday, January 18 and artists can submit up to three pieces via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The email must include title, size, medium, and price, and the email subject line must include the artist's name. If selected, artists will be contacted within seven days and must drop off their work on Wednesday, January 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The entry fee is $100 (only charged if selected).
