It’s what is on the inside that counts, right? We’ve all heard the saying, but artist Steve Miller takes this comforting concept to a new level in his Fashion, Animal, Sound exhibit at the Robin Rice Gallery of Manhattan.
Miller approaches the idea of beauty from a different perspective — within. Not many think of an x-ray as something that is designed to portray beauty, but Miller uses art to counter that conception. He “wanted to use technology to see an object’s beauty from another perspective” and display how “living organisms are so amazingly designed.”
Photographs touch on everything from snakes and flower buds to stilettos and guitars, and while x-ray art is not entirely unheard of, it is not a readily practiced form of art, thus allowing Miller to shine in his uniqueness.
The show is running until Wednesday, January 4th and is not to be missed.
The Robin Rice Gallery is located at 325 W 11th Street, New York, NY. For more information on the exhibit, visit www.robinricegallery.com.
