Those born on a Leap Day can think of it one of two ways; they’re very lucky because they barely age compared to their friends, or they can be glum because they only technically have the chance to commemorate their birthday every four years.
For Sag Harbor’s Romany Kramoris, a Leap Day baby, she chooses to accept the whimsical belief that Leap Year babies grace the earth with the goal of passing along beauty, peace, and happiness to those that they come across in their journeys.
“I’ve always felt special being born on the 29th, and try to do special things with my life that spill out into other people’s lives,” shared Romany Kramoris. “It’s kind of the responsibility that comes along with being born under a special star.”
With 2016 being a leap year, Kramoris is gearing up to celebrate her 18th birthday. In honor of the joyous occasion, she is hosting a birthday bash that is open to all at her Hamptons Gallery. The East End community is invited to toast to the special, rare affair on Monday, February 29th with birthday cake, champagne, a festive atmosphere, grab bag and music from 12 to 5 p.m. For those looking for a new piece of work to add to their abode, mention the Leap Day celebration and you’ll receive a 29 percent discount.
A Leap Year Sale at Romany Kramoris Gallery will take place from Friday, February 26th through Monday, March 14th.
Romany Kramoris Gallery is located at 41 Main Street in Sag Harbor. For more information, call 631-725-2499 or visit kramorisgallery.com.
