East Hampton -
Karyn Mannix of
karyn mannix contemporary presented the "7th Annual Love & Passion Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'n Roll" Art Show at
Ashawagh Hall in East Hampton this past weekend.
An Opening Reception held on Saturday, February 11, featured the works of more than 60 artists from across the country, exhibiting photography, painting, mixed media, and sculpture.
With live music provided by
Alfredo Merat, and a special appearance by the
Neo Political Cowgirls, there was also a 50/50 raffle for the benefit of Ashawagh Hall.
Mannix has an uncanny ability to always successfully merge the works of large groups of artists into one cohesive and thematic exhibition, and she achieved that with this show as well - and once again created an atmosphere where artists could mingle, meet and support each other, while attendees viewed (and hopefully purchased) some beautiful, original and interesting work.
The celebration continued on Sunday, February 12, at with "Rock My Heart" poetry readings and performances, produced by
Teri Kennedy, and featuring poet
Julie Sheehan.
An artistic weekend on the East End!
