Susan Rockford Exhibit At The Levitas Center
Susan Rockford, a Sag Harbor resident, will have a solo show of her paintings, "Landscapes," at the Levitas Center For the Arts at the Southampton Cultural Center from April 13 through April 26. Rockford's paintings are acrylic, multi-textured pieces on canvas and linen. She uses a process she describes as 'rising to the surface,' that is, letting the medium take the piece to its natural end. There will be an artist reception for the show on Saturday, April 18, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. An overview of her work is available at http://web.mac.com/susrock.

Teen Tours At The Parrish Art Museum
Southampton High School students Rheannone Ball and Ilana Monske will discuss a photograph by Southampton photographer Linda Hackett on Friday, April 10, as part of the "Teen Tours" radio series presented by WLIU/Long Island University Public Radio, in cooperation with the Parrish Art Museum. "Teen Tours" is featured on Bonnie Grice's popular program "In the Morning," which airs Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. For the "Teen Tours" program, students consider a single work of art from the online collection, and compose a short "response piece". The student then works with WLUI 88.3 FM's production department to record a piece that will be broadcast on the station. In addition to running on "In the Morning," the tours will be simulcast on WLIU.org's website and will be available as podcasts on that website as well as the Parrish's website www.parrishart.org.

Starting April 14, April 21, April 28 and May 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Applied Arts School in Amagansett will be having a silk-screening class.
