Chamber Series Begins This Weekend At The Southampton Cultural Center
The Southampton Cultural Center announces two concerts on Saturday, April 4 at 3 p.m. and Sunday, April 5 at 3 p.m. as part of the Southampton Cultural Center Chamber Music Series. Saturday's concert will be performed by the Escher String Quartet and Sunday's concert will be played by Yarn/Wire, the only active new music ensemble in the United States dedicated to expanding the body of works written for two pianists and two percussionists. Theater Camp At Bay Street Theatre
Bay Street Theatre is proud to present the already popular new addition to its educational programming line-up, a week-long Theatre Camp running Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The camp offers an opportunity for kids ages five through 18 to learn and have fun in a true professional theatre setting in their own backyard. Taught by Broadway professionals and music and dance educators, this program will thrill both novices and experienced theatre kids alike. The April camp week promises to be exciting, as Debra Barsha again takes the helm, with Murphy Davis, Artistic Director overseeing the program. Students will practice many of the dramatic crafts, including singing, dancing, acting, improvisation, performance, and more. The cost for Theatre Camp is $300 for the week and all are welcome. Kids will be required to bring a bag lunch and a great attitude, and Bay Street will provide the rest, including snacks. Pizza And Pajama Night And Mad Hatter Tea Party At CMEE
The Children's Museum of the East End (CMEE) in Bridgehampton will hold it's next monthly "Pizza and Pajama Night" program on Friday, April 3 at 6 p.m. Children are invited to come to the Museum in their pajamas, have pizza, hear a story read by a guest reader, and participate in a related art activity. East Hampton eight grader, Laura Perez will read "Ballyhoo Bay," a new release by best-selling children's book author, Judy Sierra, a recipient of the E.B. White Read Aloud Award and Mom's Choice Award. This popular family-night-out event is Free to Members and $7 for Non-Members. Then on Saturday, April 4, CMEE will celebrate the Spring season with its second annual Mad Hatter Tea Party from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Children can go on a scavenger hunt for prizes and treats, create Mad Hatter hats using a 'mad mix' of fun materials, and make sculpted eggs and spring collages. Pink lemonade, festive snacks and the prerequisite 'tea' will be served. This event is free to members and $12 for non-members, and includes admission. Poetry Jam And Food Drive At Canio's Books In Sag Harbor
On Saturday, April 4 at 6 p.m. Canio's Books will host an open mike poetry reading in response to the current economic crisis. The event entitled "Buddy, can you spare a poem?" will feature poems that address facing uncertainty, dealing with the challenges of an unstable economy. Poets as well as non-poets are encouraged to read works of the master they enjoy as well as something of their own. A food drive will also take place. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item or donation check to the Sag Harbor Food Pantry. Folksinger Terry Sullivan will begin the evening with a rendition of the famous Yip Harburg song written in 1931 and popularized by Bing Crosby, and Peter, Paul & Mary among others. Spring Vacation Workshops For Children At The Parrish Art Museum
Beginning Monday, April 6, the Parrish Art Museum's will be hosting a roster of creative art workshops for children, scheduled for the spring school vacation week. Each day a different subject will be explored through fun and engaging classes, including "Paint a Picture to Music" on April 6, "Build a Book" on April 7," "Make a Print" on April 8," "Self-Portrait Collage" on April 9," and "Paper Arts" on April 10. Art activities are inspired by the museum's online database, East End Stories, which explores the enduring presence of artists on the East End of Long Island. Parents may drop their child or children - ages four and up - for either the morning or afternoon session each day. Morning classes take place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. and afternoon classes take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Children are divided into studio spaces by age, and snacks are served at each session. The cost per workshop is $25 for Parrish members and $35 for non-members. Space is limited and advance registration and payment are required. Also on Monday, April 6, the Parrish will have their monthly first Monday gallery tour at 1 p.m. First Mondays offer an opportunity for seniors to enjoy docent led tours of Museum exhibitions and to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere.

New Exhibit At The Crazy Monkey Gallery
The Crazy Monkey Gallery in Amagansett will be showing Mark E. Zimmerman and Bob and Ellyn Tucker's 'Retrospective' from April 3 through April 26 with an artists reception to be held Saturday, April 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The gallery will also be exhibiting a group show featuring Stephanie Reit, Jennifer Meihofer, Jana Hayden, Ruth Rogers-Altmann, Marcia Tucker, and Daveen Herley. Judy Carmichael C.D. Release Celebration At Bay Street
Help Judy Carmichael celebrate her new C.D. "Come and Get It" with drinks (cash
bar) and complimentary hors d'oeuvres at Bay Street Theatre on April 9 at 6 p.m. The newly released C.D. features Judy's singing debut on everything from Peggy Lee inspired standards, to humorous takes on Fats Waller tunes. Judy will perform some of the tunes from the C.D. and will be available to sign C.D.'s after a short performance. There is no admission fee, but RSVP to Judy at 631-725-3603 no later than April 7.
