East End Hospice
's Box Art Auction is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and this year, the benefit will coincide with the completion of a new inpatient facility located in Quogue.
For the inaugural event, East End Hospice asked 100 artists to take a small box and turn it into a work of art that could be auctioned. Now, many of the same artists return to participate in the fundraiser year after year.
"East End Hospice is one of the most loving organizations when the light dims near the end of living," said Hans Van de Bovenkamp, a Box Art auction participating artist. "To help through donating, such as artists do with their work, or through volunteering, is one of the most profound and satisfying acts."
The 2015 auction will include works from 90 artists, such as Connie Fox, April Gornik
, Christa Maiwald
, Fulvio Massi
, Randall Rosenthal, Michelle Stuart
, Hans van de Bovenkamp and Frank Wimberley
