Johnathan Hallgrey has been selected as the poster artist for this year's Hampton Classic Horse Show.
His artwork, "The Three Hunters," is an oil pastel that Hallgrey created in 1987. The piece was inspired by the ancient art of the Egyptians and Etruscans combined with a Modern French Art Deco theme. "The Three Hunters" was also used as the cover of the "Sir Thomas Tattletales Equestrian Counting Book."
Hallgrey is an equestrian himself, and said that he remembers admiring one of the Hampton Classic posters as a child.
"It's a great honor and privilege to have been chosen to join the ranks of outstanding equestrian art representing The Hampton Classic Horse Show," Hallgrey said.
The artist's work has been highly sought after. Celebrities, such as Hugh Jackman
, Christopher Lloyd and Toni Braxton, have all purchased his work. Hallgrey's artwork can also be seen on the walls of Rockefeller Center, 20th Century Fox, and Universal Studios, to name a few.
