ArtHamptons will present over 80 leading global art galleries as part of its seventh edition, which will take place from Thursday, July 10 to Sunday, July 13, 2014 at The Sculpture Field of Nova’s Ark. Organized by Hamptons Expo Group, the fair will benefit Guild Hall, Empire State Pride Agenda, Free Arts NYC and the Southampton Arts Center. This year, they will honor visionary Robert Wilson as the Arts Patron of the Year and local painter Jane Freilicher with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The fair, “Escape,” will represent ArtHamptons 2014 with dynamic new additions and will highlight Freilicher’s landscapes and Wilson’s theatrical contributions. In addition, a showcase of Asia’s culture will be included, accenting a collaboration between featured artists and some of Korea’s leading galleries and artists.
“We are delighted to give visitors the opportunity to see so many important works from some of the most important artists, masters and emerging, from around the world,” ArtHamptons Founder and President Rick Friedman said. “The Korean focused programming encourages viewers to experience a not so familiar world in a contemporary setting—opening up the culture to new interpretations while further conceptualizing the artists’ ideas.”
With art ranging from contemporary works to 19th century masterpieces, the fair is expected to attract a crowd of over 15,000 art enthusiasts. ArtHamptons opens on Thursday, July 10, 2014 with a First Look from 5 to 7 p.m. (for Black Card holders only), followed by the Opening Night Preview from 7 to 9:30 p.m. (for Black Card & VIP Pass holders only).
Nova’s Ark is located at 60 Millstone Road in Bridgehampton. For the full list of events or more information on ArtHamptons, visit www.arthamptons.com.
