Jenny Park Adam Discusses New App For Artists And Collectors

Jenny Park Adam is the founder and CEO of ARTDEX, a new social network application for artists and collectors. Adam, who is currently an Officer of the Museum of Modern Art's (MoMA) Contemporary Arts Council, Acquisitions Committee, as well as the museum's Library Council recently explained a bit about ARTDEX at the 6th annual ArtHamptons.

The app is a useful tool for any art lover. "ARTDEX is an online social collection management platform that is really not only for the artists and the collectors, but for anybody. That includes the dealers, the galleries, and foundations, universities... anybody who has collections," said Adam.

Her mission for ARTDEX is to bring in all these people on an equal platform so that they could exchange the information and all of the artwork that has been in private hands. "Unless you're a really large collector who has art advisors, your collection has been buried inside your walls but none of this work is being exposed to the greater public," said Adam. "If you're a really important collector, you can keep your name anonymous and yet you can catalogue all of your art inventories with your receipts, documents and everything in an online platform so they can be accessed".

For her, it was important to create a social media platform mixed with art. "It's a social networking function in a Pinterest platform that is image based and yet it is very zoomed in for the art community... In ARTDEX it is all about fine art," said Adam.

Though the site is free and open to the public, it is an invitation only based site. By having membership from invitation only, Adam expressed ARTDEX wants, "the real art people." Along with CEO and founder of ARTDEX, Jenny Park Adam are a well rounded group of advisors including Charles Kickham, Doreen Small, and Evan Douglis.
