Earlier this summer, celebrity realtor Dylan Eckardt brokered a $375,000 Hamptons rental for Justin Bieber. His latest focus – House Island – is also garnering attention from notable names.
We spoke with the Montauk local about the Hamptons real estate market, the magnificent Maine property and more.
Could you speak about the state of the Hamptons real estate market?
DE: The state of Hamptons real estate as of right now is heating up for the fall. Not only are people looking to secure long-term rentals, they are looking to secure homes. Inventory is running low.
Where do you see it going?
DE: I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.
What are some of the hottest areas?
DE: It used to be from Montauk to Southampton, but these days things are heating up a little more west. People are looking to be closer to the city, but not as far out as Montauk.
Right now, a sojourn at your very own island sounds pretty nice. What was your reaction when you learned about House Island?
DE: Amazed that islands like this existed still, that are privately owned and livable. I didn’t think things existed like this in the Northeast. Amazed.
How did you end up expanding from Montauk to Maine?
DE: When opportunities arise, I’ve always seized the moment. When the owner Noah Gordon approached me about listing a private island, I knew it would hit a perfect with mix my celebrity client base.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
DE: If you’re looking for anything, anywhere, from Montauk to Manhattan, from Malibu to Maine, I’m your guy.
