2018 "Insider’s View" To Explore Eight Southampton Gems

Southampton Historical Museum will present its 9th Annual Southampton House Tour "Insider's View" on Saturday, June 2, when tourgoers will have the chance to admire eight gems located throughout Southampton Village.

"This year's tour has it all," Tom Edmonds, Southampton Historical Museum Executive Director, shared. "The variety of homes include one of Southampton's largest, historic estates, called Linden, and a sweet farmhouse, just outside the Village, that was remodeled by a top designer."

The self-guided tour will take place from 1 to 4 p.m., and a Champagne Reception at the Rogers Mansion will follow from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The 2018 "Insider's View" will encompass the Museum's Thomas Halsey Homestead on Main Street, as well as Saint Andrew's Dune Church, and other abodes that highlight the area's extraordinary architectural history - with featured homes ranging from ones constructed during the colonial days all the way up to the present. Stops will include the home of Captain E. Halsey, who settled in Southampton after his final whaling expedition on the Ship Franklin, a waterfront home with stunning views across Lake Agawam, Linden, one of Southampton's most notable estates, a woodland retreat, a recently built pink charmer, and more.

"What makes it interesting to me is that each house reveals the individual personalities of each homeowner," Edmonds added. "Collectively they all show why Southampton is a world class summer resort."

Admission to "Insider's View" is $95 in advance and $110 on the day of the tour.
