Last year, Gosman’s – the iconic 447-seat Montauk seafood eatery – as well as the entire 14-acre site on Montauk Harbor owned by the Gosman family, was put up for sale.
Marcus & Millichap, a leading commercial real estate investment services firm that has offices located throughout the United States and Canada, recently announced that they have been chosen to exclusively market the Gosman’s Dock and Gosman family portfolio of properties and businesses, which is located at the end of West Lake Drive adjacent to the Montauk Harbor Inlet.
“This is a once-in-a-generation value-add development opportunity to acquire approximately 15 acres of waterfront property in Montauk, Long Island,” noted Henri M. Kessler, a Marcus & Millichap investment sales associate who is representing the seller.
Robert and Mary Gosman founded Gosman’s Dock in 1943 and the Gosman family bought the original properties back in 1950. They expanded their portfolio with additional land in 1958.
The listing encompasses 16 parcels that consist of three favorable zones – resort, waterfront and central business, meaning the seaside property would allow for further development of a hotel, resort, spa, condos or co-op residences, retail shops, bars, restaurants, nightclub and cultural venues, as well as recreational and commercial marina uses, and the property conveniently offers direct access to Lake Montauk, Block Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean.
“I’m very pleased to be working with the Swon & Partners National Hospitality Group Team on this, they specialize in hotel investment sales in the Northeast with a national reach,” added Kessler.
The Gosman’s Dock and Portfolio is currently listed for $50 million.
