On Saturday, art enthusiasts had the opportunity to visit 70 roadside "art galleries" from the safety of their cars and with appropriate social distancing, as East Hampton artists showed off their recent works curbside at their home or studio. The event was produced by artist Idoline Duke and East Hampton Arts Council.

The student based and led anti-racism group, East End Against Hate (EEAH), that "aims to educate the community on racial injustices," organized another peaceful protest at the Henry "Hank" Zebrowski Memorial Soccer Field on South Erie Street in Montauk. This gathering follows the group's recent demonstration in Sag Harbor on June 5 where more than 300 demonstrators peacefully showed their solidarity in the "Fight for racial equality and an end to police brutality," as part of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Because of COVID-19 regulations, attendance was limited to 32 lucky visitors at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton on Wednesday, as the 2020 season opened. Families and friends had the opportunity to tour the acres of dramatic art and garden, and to see what's new.

On the day before opening to the public, Mary Anna Jun-Morris, LVIS Administrative Coordinator, gave a sneak preview tour of measures that have been made to insure safe shopping during the current pandemic. Additional Safety Precautions for COVID-19: Social distancing measures in place including limiting capacity, plexiglass partitions and directing traffic flow; Face coverings are required at all times; Hepa filters/air purifiers and strict disinfecting protocols; Touch-free hand sanitizer dispensers; and All donations “quarantined” before being brought into building. According to Mary Anna, only three shoppers will be allowed at a time in the Men's Department. Furniture Barn shoppers will be escorted one at a time.

Fly Blade organized a special pop-up drive-in screening of Disney’s “Artemis Fowl” on June 12 and 13. Held at the Hampton Classic show grounds in Bridgehampton, proceeds from the viewings supported All For The East End’s Feed the Need Campaign.

There was another strong turnout for a protest and march against police brutality and racism in Sag Harbor that was organized by the recently formed East End Against Hate, a student-led anti-racism group. Protestors gathered at Steinbeck Park, and then marched throughout the village. In the middle of Main Street, protestors lied down for eight minutes and 46 seconds shouting, “I can’t breathe” and “George Floyd.”

Hundreds attended a memorial for George Floyd and other black lives who have suffered under police brutality and oppressive racism in Southampton Village on June 4, under sweltering heat and COVID-19 preparations. The mood was somber and commemorative as Dr. Richard 'Junie' Wingfield opened the ceremonies with a Maya Angelou quote.
