The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center celebrated the groundbreaking of a long needed and awaited new building during an invitation only ceremony. The little farmhouse on six-acres, built in 1902, was donated to create the Center after a 1949 fire in a migrant camp tragically killed two children. As the number of children the Center welcomes grows, so does the need for a larger site. Attendees included Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr., Olga Elsehany, County Youth Bureau, Legislator Bridget Fleming, Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman, and Southampton Village Mayor Jesse Warren.

Southampton Elementary School students in grades pre-K to 3 learned about fire safety from the Southampton Fire Department. During the visit, the students explored the fire department’s equipment and heard from firefighters about safety protocols and fire safety.

The North Fork TV Festival held their Fifth Annual TV Festival at the Borghese Vineyard. The drive-in event featured screenings of "Freeze" and "Slayed by Divya" - as well as an award ceremony honoring "FBI" star Jeremy Sisto with The Festival’s Canopy Award.

Jean Shafiroff, the National Spokesperson and Ambassador for the American Humane's Feed the Hungry Covid-19 Program, hosted cocktails in Southampton. Both Shafiroff and Robin Ganzert, the CEO and President of the American Humane, spoke about the life changing work of the Feed the Hungry Covid-19 Program which has as its goal to feed 1,000,000 hungry animals at animal shelters across the United States by the end of 2020.

On Sunday afternoon, friends and family gathered at the Amagansett Fire House in vehicles of every shape, size and vintage, to support the Tyler Project (tylerproject.org). The Tyler Project was established in 2014 by the Valcich Family, in memory of their son Tyler, to "promote suicide awareness, prevention and support for our young people". This year, the Show was on the move, proceeding on Montauk Highway, Old Montauk Highway, past the Lighthouse and the Docks, and back to the Amagansett Fire House.

LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton welcomed guests for two socially distant outdoor events, Family Day and Dahlia Day. Family Day included yoga, an art workshop, a visit from Quogue Wildlife Reserve's owl and giant turtle and family treasure hunt, while Dahlia Day included a special workshop with Frances Palmer, noted gardener, photographer, and potter.

Ann Liguori hosted her 22nd Annual Ann Liguori Foundation (ALF) Charity Golf Classic at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton, benefitting cancer research, prevention and care, including the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation, Kids Need More and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This year’s honoree was Jason Dove, President, Platinum Inc., who accepted the ALF Business Honoree Award.

Learning in the Southampton School has changed significantly since COVID-19, with students participating in the district’s hybrid, in-person and all-remote educational plans. “We are fortunate to have dedicated teachers who provide daily direct instruction to our remote students,” said Jeremy Garritano who is coordinating the remote learning teams and supporting building level administrators. “Already, it has proven successful and we are receiving a lot of great feedback from families and students.”
