Gordon has been making the awards circuit this season with her mother, Lisa Lu, who plays the matriarch, Nick’s Grandmother in “Crazy Rich Asians.”

The evening honored Ursula Burns with the Osborn Elliott Award for Community Leadership, Richard Ravitch and Kathleen M. Doyle with the New Yorker for New York Award, and Citzens Committee grantees River Fields and Rusty Fields with the Marietta Tree Award for Public Service.

The evening offered local actors, musicians, comedians, filmmakers and visual artists the opportunity to present their work.

For seven weeks, Southampton Arts Center (SAC) will hand over its galleries to nine East End artists - including Scott Bluedorn, Daniel Cabrera, Darlene Charneco, Kara Hoblin, Ruby Jackson, Laurie Lambrecht, Jerome Lucani, Paton Miller and Jeff Muhs, each of which will host a "pop-up” studio within SAC.

The new initiative will focus on ensuring that families with school-aged children - who already receive food assistance from the Sag Harbor Food Pantry - can now also receive heating oil assistance.

After three successful Walk of Hope 5Ks in Southampton, Hope for Depression Research Foundation (HDRF) hosted its Inaugural Palm Beach Race of Hope 5K. While a nearby state fair saw a rare closing for weather, more than 300 participants of all ages gathered at Palm Beach’s Royal Poinciana Plaza to participate. The crowd included "Inside Edition" host Deborah Norville, Martin Gruss, Bill Bone, Michael Donnell, Tatiana and Campion Platt, Felicia Taylor, Carlos Morrison, and Tom and Clelia Zacharias. The Palm Beach Race is part of a multi-city expansion and the next Race of Hope will take place in New York City on April 7, 2019. It will return to Southampton in the summer.
