A Memorial Day weekend Hamptons tradition, the annual Edie's Backyard BBQ, was held at a private residence in Southampton. Hosted by Edie Windsor's widow, Judith M. Kasen-Windsor and longtime friend Jimmy Mack, the afternoon will celebrate the legacy of the LGBTQ+ rights trailblazer, whose landmark case granted same-sex married couples federal recognition, while supporting the David E. Rogers, M.D. Center at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, soon to be named the Edie Windsor Center.

Actor Stephen Baldwin and Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff hosted a book release party for Remi Adeleke, the Nigerian prince exiled as a child, raised by a widowed mother in the Bronx and forged by his experience as a Navy Seal. He chronicled his story in his new book, "Transformation: A Navy Seal's Unlikely Journey from the Throne of Africa, to the Streets of the Bronx, to Defying All Odds." The night also marked a sneak peak at Marble Downtown, a new restaurant in the meatpacking district.

LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton celebrated the opening of its 28th season with their Rites of Spring celebration. The gardens welcomed nearly 500 guests coming to see the flowering trees and nearly one million daffodils in bloom as well as new art installed, including works by Wendell Castle, Jun Kaneko, Joseph Walsh, Young Jae Lee, and Will Ryman.

Southampton Hospital Association (SHA) and Stony Brook Medicine celebrated a momentous milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of The Phillips Family Cancer Center. A fully integrated site of the Stony Brook University Cancer Center, The Phillips Family Cancer Center will start providing radiation therapy in May, and will offer medical oncology in August. The Center changes cancer care on the East End by delivering advanced, comprehensive cancer treatments in a state-of-the-art, two-level, patient-centered building and healing environment located at 740 County Road 39A in Southampton, New York.
