A mainstay during Thanksgiving weekend is the Parrish Art Museum Holiday Party and Market. Opening night was celebrated with a Cocktail Party featuring live music, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and book signings.
Guests at the VIP Cocktail Party benefit were able to bid on fabulous silent auction items, such as designer accessories, jewelry, sports memorabilia, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Attendees included Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton Rothschild and James Rothschild, Kathy Hilton, Barron Hilton, Deborah Bancroft, Jonathan Capehart, Aerin Lauder, Jo Carole Lauder, Andrea Greeven Douzet and Alexandre Douzet, Charlene and James Nederlander, Laura Lofaro Freeman and James Freeman, Sandy and Stephen Perlbinder, Barbara Slifka, and Alexandra Stanton and Sam Natapoff.
During the party, Fern Mallis, creator and organizer of New York Fashion Week, signed copies of her book “Fashion Lives: Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis.” Also signing books were Florence Fabricant, author of 11 cookbooks and food critic at “The New York Times,” and artist April Gornik, who signed copies of her book “Drawings.”
Guests were then able to shop at the Gift Market, which featured some extraordinary gifts and luxury items from merchants like Calypso St. Barth, Aerin, Haverhill Fine Jewelry and others.
The weekend benefited the Museum’s year-round programs. The Parrish Art Museum is the oldest cultural institution on the East End of Long Island. It is dedicated to the collection, preservation, interpretation and dissemination of art from the 19th Century to the present, with particular focus on the creative legacy of the East End. The Parrish Art Museum is open year-round.
The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. For more information please visit parrishart.org.
