Jessica White’s Angel Wings Dinner returned to East Hampton’s Georgica Restaurant for a fourth year of fun and fundraising.
White started the Angel Wings Foundation to help women and young girls alike deal with domestic violence and sexual abuse. Having gone through such things herself, she wanted to aid others by giving them a place to turn, opportunities to talk about and deal with their experiences.
“The first year was more about me coming clean and being able to talk about what I had over come,” said White at the dinner Sunday. “A sense of healing for myself…now I get so many young girls that come to me, and women. One bad thing can change everybody’s life, if you are courageous enough to speak about it, and i just choose to be that vehicle that God wants to use, that mouth piece.”
Angel Wings paired up with Delete Blood Cancer to benefit both causes this year. White, having lost her grandmother to cancer, was excited about working with the DKMS as she hopes to expand Angel Wings work to encompass other issues she feels passionately about.
In attendance to benefit the two causes were well-known names such as DiMondo, Cleveland Brown’s Desmond Brown, NY Giants’ Brandon Meyers, Peter Brandt Jr., Shontelle, Jonathan Cheban, Monique Zordan, and of course Jessica White.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by Smokey Robotic.
The event was sponsored by Pampelonne Rosé Lime, Main Street Drivers, and After-Party Music by DJ Phresh.
White never anticipated that the dinner, and her foundation, would grow to what it is today.
“I never thought four years ago when i had my first night that I would be back here and continuing to do this, but God is good,” said White. “It is helping so many people. There are moments that you get tired but you realize that its bigger than you now.”
