Events To Kickoff The Hamptons Season

The start of the Hamptons season is upon us. Make sure you make it a memorable Memorial Day weekend by checking out some of these Hamptons events.

Family Friendly:

Uniting Against Lung Cancer is hosting its Seventh Annual Kites for a Cure (unitingagainstlungcancer.org) at Coopers Beach in Southampton from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May, 25 with a rain date of Sunday, May 26. For a donation of $30, attendees can decorate a kite then join in the family kite fly which attracts more than 1,000 kite-flyers.

While shopping:

C. Wonder (www.cwonder.com) is hosting a Grand Opening Extravaganza all weekend long at C. Wonder Southampton (5 Main Street, 631-287-2645) and C. Wonder East Hampton (48 Main Street, 631-324-8513). The festivities include candy bar and balloons, the C. Wonder prize wheel which include must have C. Wonder summer items and a $250 C. Wonder shopping spree. C. Wonder had partnered up with NYC bakery, Eleni's to bring Eleni's new 'Color Me' collection to the pop-up stores and a live DJ at the Southampton store.

Shop for a cause when The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons Thrift and Treasure Shop (www.arfhamptons.org) is transformed by some of the top interior designers at the Third Annual Designer Showhouse and Sale. The cocktail party is on Saturday, May 25 from 6 to 8 p.m., with an exclusive preview party beginning at 5 p.m. The event will be opens to the public on Sunday, May 26, and Monday, May 27.

For The Cause:

The East Hampton Garden Club (www.gceasthampton.org) is hosting their Annual Garden Party at Mulford Farm in East Hampton on Friday, May 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres followed by a silent auction and a preview of the annual plant sale. All proceeds benefit the Garden Club of East Hampton.

Miracle House (www.miraclehouse.org) is hosting their 23rd Annual Summer Kickoff Cocktail Party at the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club on Saturday, May 25. The evening hosted by Carson Kressley will honor Jayma Cardoso and Gerry Logue as well as "Real Housewives of New York City" Countess LuAnn de Lesseps who will receive the Miracle House Compassion Award. The evening starts with the cocktail party at 5:30 p.m. and at 8 p.m. dinner, the awards, and live auction with an after party performance by International Recording Artist Kistine W.

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic's East End Benefit ( www.plannedparenthood.org) is on Sunday, May 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Channing Family Sculpture Garden. Enjoy cocktails, wines from Channing Daughters Vineyard, hors d'oeuvres from Cynthia Battaglia of Distinctive Catering, and a silent auction. This year marks PPHP's 80th anniversary.

Southampton Hospital is hosting their annual Memorial Day weekend party, at the Westhampton Country Club (www.southamptonhospital.org) on Sunday, May 26. The Singapore Fling themed event which benefits Southampton Hospital's Westhampton Primary Care Center is chaired by Christiane Hiegel and Dorothy Lewis. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner, a silent auction and dancing on the terrace.

For A Mature Audience Only:

The hilarious Mario Cantone is performing at the Westampton Beach Performing Arts Center (www.whbpac.org) at 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. Best known as Anthony Marantino in the HBO series, "Sex And The City", his celebrity impersonations and hysterical musical impressions will leave you in stitches.

For The Art Enthusiast:

The 6th Annual Memorial Day Weekend On The Montauk Green Art Show (www.montaukartistsassociation.org) hosted by the Montauk Artists Association will be held Friday, May 24 from 12 to 6 p.m., Saturday May 25 and Sunday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Paintings, photography, mixed-media, sculptures, graphics and prints, ceramic and glass creations, jewelery, gyotaku fish prints and woodworking will be available for purchase.

The East End Arts' 17th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival (www.eastendarts.org) will be held on Sunday, May 25 from 12 to 5 p.m. in Downtown Riverhead. Activities include street painting, face painting, live music, arts and crafts and more at the festival which draws over 5,000 local residents and artists.
