Spotting a celebrity in the Hamptons during the summer is a frequent occurrence but at these five events you are sure to sight a few and they all raise money for a great cause.
1. Art For Life Gala: The main fundraising benefit for Danny Simmons, Russell Simmons and Rev Run’s Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, attracted over 800 affluent guests at last years gala. The event was hosted by CNN’s Soledad O’Brien while Star Jones served as Live Auctioneer and honorees included Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. The 14th Annual Art For Life Gala (rushphilanthropic.org) will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013.
2. Super Saturday 16: Shop until you drop at the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund benefit. The one-of-a-kind designer garage sale is a celeb favorite with many bringing their little ones to enjoy the fun. Past hosts have included Kelly Ripa, Blake Lively, Ashley Greene, and Donna Karan. 3. 65th Annual Artists and Writers Celebrity Softball Game: Celebrities like Alec Baldwin, Chevy Chase, Christie Brinkley, Bill Collage, former President Bill Clinton, and former NY Mayor Rudy Giuliani showoff their competitive sides while slugging it out on the ball field at Herrick Park in East Hampton on August 17, 2013. The Softball Game (artistswritersgame.org) raises money for East End Hospice, East Hampton Day Care Learning Center, Phoenix House of Long Island and The Retreat.
4. Bridgehampton Polo: The Saturday Hamptons event to be seen at, watch the action-packed polo matches as teams battle for the title of the much coveted Polo Challenge. Make sure you check the schedule to see when Polo fan favorite Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras takes the field. You can catch the Polo (sportpolo.com) action for six consecutive Saurdays starting in July.
5. East Hampton Library’s Authors Night: Mingle with your favorite authors and have them sign your copy at the premier literary event of the Hamptons featuring over 100 authors. Authors Night (authorsnight.org) on Saturday, August 10, 2013, already has a few notable names confirmed including Gwyneth Paltrow, Nelson DeMille and Tom Clavin.
