It was a packed house for the IGHL
Fourth Annual luncheon and fashion fling held at the Westhampton Country Club
on Sunday, October 21, 2012. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour while deciding on which items in the Chinese auction to take a chance on. Items included a variety of interests ranging from a hot ticket basket filled with a Badgley Mischka
handbag, Burgundy Rabbit fur scarf and Saks 5th Avenue
fedora which everyone at my table hoped they won to an also much wanted relaxation basket.
Cocktail hour was followed by a three course meal at tables featuring flower arrangements from 1-800-Flowers
and followed by a fashion show with clothing from Renee's of Mattituck
. Guests were treated to music from the Greg Williams Quartet which played music ranging from classical to Katy Perry
to Guns N Roses.
One of the few men at the event, CEO of IGHL Walter W. Stockton
said, "At a time when we really need the donations, the women come back year after year and open their purses to donate without question."
Director of the IGHL Foundation Frank Lombardi
was grateful at the outpouring of support from sponsors and supporters. Lombardi said, "This is the event's fourth year and all 180 seats for the luncheon were sold. It is great to have an event which is all for women because events like golf benefits are mostly attended by men but this is attended 100 percent by women."
Senior Director of Human Resources Dori Geier
was moved when talking about the growth of the event, saying, "The event is more than we ever dreamed. We wanted an event which was for women only and we have people come back year after year."
The Mission of IGHL is to provide quality programs, services and supports for those in need of our expertise in caring for the developmentally disabled and its related auxiliary services.
