New York City - Our friends at Gotham Magazine threw one hell of a party at M2 Ultra Lounge on the west side last week, as thousands of guests gathered to celebrate the annual issue listing "New York's 100 Hottest Bachelors." In case you are wondering, I was not included on the list again this year, but many a chosen Adonis was in attendance and why wouldn't they be, as a multitude of beautiful and eligible women packed the massive ballroom.

John Oates of Hall & Oates with Niche Media CEO Jason Binn.

Hosted by Kelly Bensimon in the tiniest of a white lace dress, all the rest of the "Real Housewives of New York" (RHNY) eventually made an appearance as cameras rolled at the event for inclusion in an upcoming episode. The party was co-sponsored by the Borgota Hotel Casino & Spa and Manhattan Motorcars was on hand to unveil a pair of 2010 Porsche Panameras, along with representatives of Porsche, North America.

Bensimon was thrilled to be hosting this year's event, "I think it is really, really exciting to be here with the 100 hottest bachelors. They are all such a great bunch of guys and are all so nice." I asked her if she had her eye on any of the single men at the party, "I am recently divorced and single again myself, but I am not the type that shops around, if you know what I mean. I am looking for Mister Right, not Mister Right Now." Former writer at Hamptons Magazine and Editor at Gotham, I asked the brilliant and beautiful Bensimon to describe her Mister Right, "I really like a Renaissance man. I like to drink beer and eat chicken wings, so I am looking for that. I am associated with the Met and I really, really love culture, so a man has to go high and go low with me."

Certainly Bensimon's Renaissance man could be one of the evening's designated bachelors Coerte V.W. Felske, author of "The Shallow Man" and "Millennium Girls" among other novels. I asked the charming and handsome novelist how it felt to be included on the list, "I was on some bachelor lists a while ago and then I wasn't a bachelor and now it would appear I am a bachelor again." He jokingly made the point, "The fact that I am a bachelor and the fact that I wrote 'The Shallow Man' has nothing to do with each other. There is no linkage whatsoever." I asked Felske if he planned on remaining a bachelor for a while, "You never know, New York is quite the crazy candy store, but I am actually enjoying having freedom again." He elaborated on the single world that is Manhattan, "New York is one of the greatest places in the world for the greatest ladies in the world. New York has that capacity to have venues that wherever you go it kind of could be that night. There are so many people coming in and it is so cosmopolitan, a tremendous cross-section of people coming through, so it could be on any given day."

A new 15th anniversary edition of "The Shallow Man" is being brought out by Dolce Vita Press with a jacket design by Peter Beard. Felske has a new novel, "Scandalocity," coming out in January of 2010 and will be sitting down with Hamptons.com for an in-depth, literary interview with me in the coming month.

Literary bachelor to sports star bachelor, I caught up with point guard Devin Harris of the New Jersey Nets and asked him how it felt to be listed, "It feels good, I consider it another accomplishment and I am having fun with it." I asked him about the Nets move to Brooklyn and the need for him to find some new haunts across the river, "We have a few more legal things to work out apparently but we are very excited about coming to the city. I am sure I am not going to have any problem finding some nice nightspots in Brooklyn."

The list of bachelors is as diverse in profession as it is in age, race and ethnicity. Among the many notable NYC honorees, to name but a very few, are actors Alec Baldwin, Gerard Butler, Chris Noth, musicians Justin Timberlake, Tyson Ritter, Chip Thomas, businessmen Frank Carfaro, Josh Guberman, Glenn Myles and restaurateurs Marco Britti, Michael Statsky and Phillippe Massoud. Although not all the celebrity bachelors were in attendance, certainly a good number of honorees were in house to accept the adoration.

Eclectic indeed, country singer/songwriter Cooper Boone was absolutely ecstatic to be included on the list, "It feels damn good! Yeah! The first time being on a list like this and my mama is damn proud of me!" I asked him what his favorite hunting ground was in Manhattan for single women, "As a hunter you are never predicable, never, never. I always change it up. I am always open to any potential spot" I asked him if he ever ventured out to the Hamptons, "Oh yeah, I love the Hamptons. Last summer we played a few gigs out at the Stephen Talkhouse. I love it out there."

Not everyone at the party was single as I spoke with RHNY's Ramona Singer who was in attendance with her husband of 17 years Mario Singer, "We thought we'd stop by to see if I could find a nice man for a single girlfriend. I always get asked, 'Do you have any nice men for me? Do you know any nice girls for me?' So I am going to look around and see if I can play matchmaker." Regulars in Southampton, the Rhinebeck native said that her Southampton "home-away-from-home" reminded her of the house she grew up in, "I love it there, we spend Christmas there. We do a whole big tree; I make the dinner and the turkey. We just love it."

"The Shallow Man" author Coerte Felske.

Another happily married man was musician John Oates of Hall & Oates fame. In town for only a few days, I asked him what pulled him out of Aspen, "Jason Binn invited me, I just happened to be in New York. Darryl [Hall] and I have released a boxed set and we are here doing press to promote it, it just came out Tuesday." More than the usual "Greatest Hits" boxed set Oates explained that all the songs were carefully selected by him and Hall and includes many songs from their archives and numbers never before heard. I asked if he and Hall would be going out on tour together, "We're doing a show next week in DC and in Philly. We just tour and play together when we want and where we want. We don't really go out on extended tours anymore." Oates will be back in town next month to play a gig at the Wine Factory.

Binn, CEO and Founder of Niche Media Holdings, the company that produces Gotham, Hamptons, Boston Proper, Capital File and another dozen magazines across the country definitely knows how to launch an issue. Cocktails were flowing, people were dancing, the lighting effects were spectacular and New York's hip and eligible singles were definitely networking. A special advertisers VIP area was set up in the balcony that overlooked the expansive party area of M2 Ultra and this bacchanal was undoubtedly the party to be at this week in Manhattan.

As handsome as the bachelors were the cars that Manhattan Motorcars unveiled at the event to great anticipation were equally as spectacular. Mick Pallardy, VP for Porsche Area East, explainded the concept behind the new Panamera, "It is a great opportunity for us to enter a new segment of the luxury market, the sedan segment, but more importantly to bring to it not only a sedan, but a sports sedan. The car is engineered and designed from the ground up to be a sports car. It is designed to comfortably sit four people in a very sporty environment. It is like driving a 911 Porsche with two people in the backseat."

So there you have it, Gotham Magazine has done it again. Manhattan's hippest glossy has thrown another spectacular party that included the city's "Hottest Bachelors," beautiful and brilliant women, sporty state-of-the-art sports cars and also served as the set for a film shoot for one of the hottest shows on reality television. Come to think of it, the only thing missing was me on the list. Oh well, there is always next year.

I missed Bethenny Frankel in the "Housewives" foto. She is my favorite "housewife" of New York. Of course, I love Jill. Did Kelly being the hostess have anything to do with Bethenny not being there? I hope not.
