Jean Shafiroff Fetes Pucci During Madison Avenue Fashion Heritage Week

Was that petite brunette with her back to us in the Pucci scarf, dress, and bag Jean Shafiroff? No, Jean had already taken her scarf off. And her dress was flouncy. That's the way it was in Jean's champagne party in support of Couture Council's Madison Avenue Fashion Heritage Week. Pucci puzzle prints bathed the room in shades of blue and turquoise. "Did you see Chui-ti Jansen in that evening gown?" Allison Minton (sporting a vintage Pucci clutch) asked me. Yes, I had. And in the second Pucci she tried on. Robin Cofer rocked black and white vintage Pucci pants.

Other labels participating in Madison Avenue Fashion Heritage Week included: Akris, Bally, Brunello Cucinelli, Calvin Klein Collection, Carolina Herrera, Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci, Ermenegildo Zegna, Etro, Hermès, J. Mendel, John Lobb, Longchamp, Max Mara, Missoni, and Mulberry.

In the Pucci party Valerie Steele, Director of the Museum at FIT, which the Council supports, Eleanora Kennedy, Cinzia Bernasconi, Gemma Kahng, Geoffrey Bradfield, Kathleen Giordano, Victor de Souza, Montgomery Frazier, Nicole DiCocco and Karen Klopp were among those sipping Shafiroff's signature Veuve Clicquot.

In one room, they could see how the Pucci prints are made. But, the dressing room seemed to be a favorite stop. That's how it is when you mix, socialites, couture, and champagne.
