Hugh Jackman hosted the 2014 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Radio City Music Hall in recognition of achievement in live Broadway performances. Televised live on CBS, the awards, considered to be the highest U.S. theater honor, was viewed by audiences around the world.
The American Theater Wing and The Broadway League presented the awards and this year’s honorees were Joseph Benincasa, Joan Marcus and Charlotte Wilcox.
The evening also featured performances by the casts of “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder,” “Aladdin,” “After Midnight” and “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.” Presenters and performers included Clint Eastwood, Orlando Bloom, Tina Fey, Carole King, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Hudson and many more.
“A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” was the big winner of the night, taking home 4 awards including Best New Musical. Actor Neil Patrick Harris took home his first Tony for his role “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” which won Best Revival of a Musical.
