Friends and loved ones including Michael Douglas, Goldie Hawn Kurt Russell, Art Garfunkel, and Victor Garber, came together to honor the extremely accomplished life of Oscar and Tony award-winning producer Marty Richards. Chita Rivera served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening which was held at The Edison Ballroom on Monday, April 8, 2013.
The memorial featured star-studded performances showcasing Richards’ acclaimed Broadway musicals including Chicago, Sweeney Todd, On The Twentieth Century, The Life, Grand Hotel, La Cage Aux Folles, The Will Rogers Follies, Sweet Smell Of Success, and Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life. The evening which was produced and staged by Michael Milton & Dan Gallagher, also featured special tributes by Clive Davis, Tom Viola and Michele Herbert. Proceeds benefited The New York Center For Children which was co-founded by Mr. Richards in memory of his wife Mary Lea.
