A new season, and a new look for this season’s sport of kings in the Hamptons.
The Bridgehampton Polo Club gallops into its’ 17th season starting Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Two Trees Farm. The farm will be fresh faced with a new driveway lined with majestic red maples leading up to acres of pristine fencing and landscaping to drink in.
Also new this year will be the arrangement of the VIP tent. It will be open to guests of the sponsors and the club for only opening day and closing day. In the VIP tent, field-side garden areas will give patrons an unparalleled view of the match. They will enjoy a pre-game reception complete with light hors d’oeuvres, rosé wine, summery cocktails and pre-match entertainment.
Also, private VIP cabanas will be available for purchase on opening and closing weekends. The cabanas include plush furniture, a catered picnic from Tutto Il Giorno with freshly baked breads, antipasto, paired cheeses, homemade pesto and fresh fruits. The picnics come complete with a private butler, rosé wine, and access to the prosecco bar.
Something that will not have changed is the level of competition and athleticism to be showcased.
“We are really happy to have such a high level of play in the Hamptons once again,” Bridgehampton Polo Club Owner Peter Brant says.“The Bridgehampton Polo Club has truly cemented itself as one of the top polo venues in the United States.”
Four teams will be competing for the chance to win the coveted USPA Monty Waterbury and Hamptons Cup tournament titles. They are composed of some of the top scoring players in the world including Magoo Laprida, Victor Vargas, Juan Martin Nero, Tommy Biddle and Mariano Aguerre.
Opening the season, Brant takes the field once again with his legendary White Birch polo team playing Lechuza Caracas.
Joining the already established sponsor Ferrari of North America, Burgess, the global super yacht industry leader; newly launched Gotham Jets, LaCroix Sparkling Water, Escada and Town & Country will be sponsors of this years events. Each, reportedly, will have a strong presence on-site.
