What better way to enter 2019 than with a smile on your face?
Long Island Comedy Festival is presenting the 11th anniversary of the New Year’s Laughin’ Eve Comedy Showcases, with a local iteration taking place at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead.
“We’re thrilled that our New Year’s Eve shows have become so popular across Long Island,” said Paul Anthony, a Long Island comedian that serves as the Festival’s Executive Producer. “This year we’re presenting a total of six shows across Long Island. That’s a record that we’re very proud of! The truth is, people WANT to laugh more, and our shows help them do just that!”
The special Laugh, Dine & Dance edition at the Suffolk Theater will feature sets from Talia Reese (AC, Mom’s Night Out, Long Island Comedy Festival), Steve Lazarus (Foxwoods, Catskills, National headliner) and Rob Falcone (Comedy Central, HBO, Showtime, National headliner).
“Research shows that laughter has many health benefits. Our goal is to bring more laughter and fun to Long Islanders!” Anthony relayed. “We’re featuring some of our most requested comedians at each show. There is literally no better way to celebrate New Year’s than to LAUGH in the New Year.”
The New Year’s Eve show will commence at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
“And the best part is our shows are all early!” he added. “So people can still go to dinner, parties, or go home and watch the ball drop. Personally I like to go to bed after the shows, but the choice is yours!”
After the comedy wraps up, there will be music from DJ Phil, who will be playing everything from yesterday to today, a champagne toast and a live broadcast of the ball drop.
Tickets range from $45 to $59.
In addition to the Suffolk Theater, shows will take place at The Argyle Theatre in Babylon, The Madison Theatre in Rockville Centre, and Theatre Three in Port Jefferson.
The Suffolk Theater is located at 118 East Main Street, Riverhead. For more information, call 631-727-4343 or visit www.suffolktheater.com.
