Get ready to ask for noch ein bier, bitte (another beer please) at these East End Oktoberfest gatherings.
Rowdy Hall (10 Main Street in the Parrish Mews, East Hampton, 631-324-8555, rowdyhall.com) will pay homage to Oktoberfest with over two weeks’ worth of fester preis (prix fixes). The East Hampton eatery will also host a tradition Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. For the soiree, Rowdy Hall will be transformed into a traditional German beer garden – with picnic tables in the courtyard and communal dining tables in the dining room. Attendees can expect German snacks – like fresh baked jumbo pretzels and bratwurst with mustard – and plenty of Oktoberfest beer.
Bistro 72 at Hotel Indigo (1830 West Main Street, Riverhead, 631-369-3325, bistro-72.com) will host its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday September 29 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Oktoberfest at Baron’s Cove (31 West Water Street, Sag Harbor, www.baronscove.com) will be held on Saturday, October 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. The wunderbar affair will feature beer specials, wursts with kraut & whole grain mustard, soft Pennsylvania pretzels with beer and Adirondack cheddar fondue, and Chef Jay’s bacon jam, mini schnitzel with spätzle, lingonberries, lemon, apfelstreudel, and more.
The Ram’s Head Inn (108 South Ram Island Drive, Shelter Island Heights, www.theramsheadinn.com) Oktoberfest 2018 on Saturday, October 20 will include a classic pig roast, live music from Points East Band, and more. There will also be a raffle to benefit the Island Gift of Life Foundation. The gathering will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. with a buffet from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
The final East End Oktoberfest festivity will be held at Garden of Eve (4558 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, 631-722-8777, gardenofevefarm.com) on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days there will be hayrides, family fun fields, live Bluegrass by Buddy Merriam and the Backroads and others, roasted sweet corn and squash, fresh-squeezed lemonade, organic hot dogs and other bites, plenty of pumpkins to pick, craft beer from the Garden of Eve Farm Brewery, a pedal kart track, maze, lavender labyrinth, friendly farm animals, and other fall favorites.
