Hamptons Nightlife Hotspots: Main Street

The Hamptons are full of amazing nightlife from Quogue to Montauk, so here are a few suggestions to make summer 2013 memorable whether you want to take advantage of the summer weather and grab drinks outside, looking for a party and dance atmosphere or really want to kickoff summer right with a champagne brunch.

Tide Runners (7 North Road, Hampton Bays, 631-728-7373, www.tiderunners.com) located on the Shinnecock Canal in Hamptons Bays is a great spot to stop by to take in the sunset during happy hour. They have a DJ or live music on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

For one of the best outdoor bars in the Hamptons head to CowFish (258 East Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, 631-594-3868, cowfishrestaurant.com) and then take the free ferry to Rumba (43 Canoe Place Road, Hampton Bays, 631-594-3544, www.rumbarumbar.co) for fruity tropical cocktails.

If you are looking to grab a drink and enjoy the summer weather in Southampton head to The Back Bar at The Driver’s Seat (62 Jobs Lane, Southampton, 631-283-6606, www.thedriversseatrestaurant.com).

Another bar with a view is La Superica (1 Main Street, Sag Harbor, 631-725-3388). Take in the panoramic views of the Sag Harbor Bay while sipping on specialty cocktails and if you like margaritas try the “perfect”.

There is no shortage of nightlife in Montauk whether you are looking for a laid back hangout like Crow’s Nest (4 Old West Lake Drive, Montauk, 631-668-2077, www.crowsnestmtk.com), which has nightly fire pits and beautiful sunset views of Lake Montauk or want more of a party, dance, and sometimes sloppy atmosphere like at Sloppy Tuna (148 South Emerson Avenue, Montauk, 631-647-8000, www.thesloppytuna.com) which has live music during the day and a DJ as well as special events at night.

The Surf Lodge (183 Edgemere Street, Montauk, 631-668-1562, www.thesurflodge.com) returns to the Hamptons with a killer lineup of performances planned for summer 2013, kicking off Memorial Day weekend with Portugal. The Man.

For a weekend pool party hit The Montauk Beach House (55 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk, 631-668-2112, thembh.com) who brought in big names like Mark Ronson last summer.

The infamous Day & Night brunch party is returning to Gurney’s Inn (290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk, 631-668-2345, www.gurneysinn.com). Kicking off Memorial Day weekend in style with a member of the Dual Groupe family skydiving to hand deliver a Magnum of Dom Perignon Rose Luminous to the party. Day & Night will only be in the Hamptons four times throughout the summer including July 4th weekend, August 3rd and Labor Day weekend.

The Stephen Talkhouse (161 Main Street, Amagansett, 631-267-3117, www.stephentalkhouse.com) is the Hamptons go-to spot for live music. The summer schedule includes performances by Toots and The Maytals, Judy Collins, Dar Williams, Shawn Colvin, Ian Hunter & The Rant Band, and Dave Mason. Showoff your skills at karaoke nights on Wednesdays.

Cyril’s Fish House (2167 Montauk Highway, Amagansett, 631-267-7993, cyrilsfishhouse.com) has a wide range of delicious frozen drinks including the BBC which is a must try and for an adult playground featuring an outdoor lounge where you can bring out your competitive side during a ping pong match or enjoy a drink at the Blackwell Rum Shack head to Ruschmeyer’s (161 Second House Road, Montauk, 631-668-2877, www.kingandgrove.com).

If you are looking to spend the night dancing to the latest hits then head to Drift Inn Bar (63 Dune Road, East Quogue, 631-653-5305, www.thedriftinn.com) or Beach Bar (58 Foster Avenue, Hampton Bays, 631-723-3100, www.beachbar.net) which have music from various DJ’s throughout the summer and an indoor dance floor or head outside to enjoy the warm weather.

On the North Fork, find friends with a boat and anchor by Claudio’s (111 Main Street, Greenport, 631-477-0627, www.claudios.com) who has live music throughout the summer.
