Life@Nite: The Hamptons Were Happening With Exhibition Openings, Charity Kick-Offs And More

Southampton - Wanda Murphy celebrated the opening of her "Summer Uplifts" art exhibition with a reception, while the Young Friends of the DreamBall hosted a kick-off party and Tracy Stern, author Harper Dimmerman and R. Couri Hay hosted a Pearl vodka sponsored summer cocktail party for Harboring Hearts.

Wanda Murphy celebrated the opening of her "Summer Uplifts" art exhibition with a reception at the Bego Ezair Gallery in Southampton to benefit the Humane Society of New York. Art aficionados including Leesa Rowland, Jane Pontarelli, Larry Wohl, Wendy Diamond, Elaine Sargent and Cassandra Seidenfeld sipped on champagne while taking in Wanda Murphy's bold geometric paintings, which will be on display through August 31st.

The Young Friends of the DreamBall hosted a kick-off party for the DreamBall After Dark on Saturday, at a private residence in Southampton. Guests including Stephanie and Jesse Newhouse, Erin Cohen, Liana Engel, Timo Weiland, Fern Mallis, Steven Beltrani, and Paul Johnson-Calderon sipped cocktails and enjoyed s'mores in true Hamptons fashion. The DreamBall After Dark will be held on September 27th at Cipriani 42nd Street in support of the American Cancer Society & Personal Care Products Councils' Look Good...Feel Better Program.

Tracy Stern, author Harper Dimmerman and R. Couri Hay hosted a Pearl vodka sponsored summer cocktail party for Harboring Hearts at Hamptons Players Club on Saturday. Supporters including Craig Pravda, Fallon Rechnitz, Dmitry Seron, Jacqueline Markot and Anjali Arora came out to support the charity, which provides heart patients and their families with support through a home-like haven and nurturing community of resources.

New home design store MONC XIII will host their first annual backgammon tournament and party on Friday at 6:15 p.m. Players who are interested in playing must reserve in advance by calling MONC XIII at (631) 808-3333 and all are welcome to attend for the cocktail party and tournament viewing.

Hip to Hip Theatre Company returns for free Shakespeare in the Park. On Friday night, catch a performance of Hamlet at Agawam Park in Southampton beginning at 7:30 p.m. and Comedy of Errors on Saturday night also at 7:30 p.m.

Wall Street Rocks Battle of the Bands Round 2 will take place on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY at 6:30pm. Competing bands include The Subscribers, Moroccan Sheepherders and Holiday Electric. The event will be emceed by Bill Silver and will include special guest performances by MadameMayhem and C3 (The Chocolate Cuckoo Clocks). The night will benefit Wounded Warrior Project and ReserveAid.

On Saturday night, Misto and Pizzi will be spinning at nightclub hotspot South Pointe.

Support the Peconic baykeepers at Bubbly Hour hosted by Champagnes Nicolas Feuillatte on Saturday at the East Hampton Point. From 5 to 7 p.m enjoy hors d'oeuvres and champagne while listening to a performance from Estee Maria.

Also on Saturday, the East Hampton Studio will host The First Annual Michael J. Fox Foundation and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Gala Honoring the Music of Billy Joel with Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot, featuring long time members of Billy Joel's band. The event after party will be held at Georgica Restaurant and Lounge starting at 12 a.m. featuring music by DJ Theory and Nima Yamini
