Montauk - The First Annual P4H 4 Mile SUP Paddle is taking place in Fort Pond. Due to the effects of Tropical Storm Danny, the race will start at the Surf Lodge at 2 p.m. on Aug. 30.

The Second Annual Surf Art Auction will begin at 5 p.m. and will showcase the work of Eric Freeman, Sheila Isham, Janet Jennings, Cyrille Margarit, Ralph Mazzucco, and Andre Von Morrise, many painted on surfboards. Other auction items include stand-up paddleboards, a remarkable hand crafted wooden kayak, private yoga sessions, an autographed book from Jimmy Buffett, lawn care from Treewise, a gorgeous bracelet courtesy of Renee Caovilla, tennis equipment from Tennis East, and private nutrition sessions.

P4H has chosen the following charities as its 2009 beneficiaries: The P4H East End Catastrophic Fund, buildOn, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, The East Hampton Day Care Learning Center, PRASAD, The Retreat, and WPA.

Paddlers for Humanity (P4H) is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization located in East Hampton. P4H raises funds for worthy nonprofit organizations that focus on health, education, and community.

The race and auction were originally scheduled for Aug. 29, but were changed due to the expected inclement weather on Saturday.
