Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) in Riverhead is paying tribute to PBMC COVID-19 frontline workers during Unmasking the Heroes – a Virtual Gala and Online Auction. The special presentation on Friday, September 25 will include messages from the hospital’s clinicians and leadership about what it has been like to be on the frontlines of the pandemic. “Attendees” will also hear from patients and Coronavirus survivors – and the evening will include a performance from the Chris Norton Band.
“Our frontline health care heroes worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to care for their community members and the many people who were transferred to our hospital from other facilities,” said Andrew Mitchell, PBMC’s president & CEO. “I am so grateful to all of our generous donors and community members who have shown their support in a variety of ways throughout COVID-19. And it is with great pleasure that we get to reveal the heroes behind the masks who have diligently been caring for patients for months so we can better appreciate them.”
The Virtual Gala will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It will be livestreamed online and afterwards, Gala footage will be added to PBMC’s YouTube page.
