Over Labor Day
weekend, Southampton History Museum will host the final Hamptons summer soiree of the season on Saturday, August 31.
"This last of the season cocktail party brings together people of all ages who mix with year-round and summer residents," shared Tom Edmonds
, Southampton History Museum Executive Director.
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on the lawn of the Museum's Gilded Age Rogers Mansion
, Late Summer Cocktail Party guests can indulge in delicious hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and hit the dance floor as they enjoy tunes by DJ Carlos Lama.
"The Rogers Mansion, developed during Southampton's Gilded Age, is the perfect setting to eat, drink and dance while catching up with old friends and meeting new ones," Edmonds noted.
This year's gathering will be held in honor of The Southampton Association, who like the Museum, is also focused on preserving the history and culture of the Village.
"The party's hosts Marge Sullivan, chairman of the museum's board of trustees, and Peter Hallock
, a past board member and current museum adviser, really enjoy providing a social gathering where the Southampton community comes together to enjoy the beautiful grounds and period rooms of the Rogers Mansion," Edmonds added. "This year we are honoring The Southampton Association for their long commitment to preserving our shared heritage."
Proceeds from the benefit will support the Museum's education programs.
Tickets are $65 for adults and $35 for children. Ticket prices will increase to $85 and $45 after 4 p.m. on Friday, August 30.
The Rogers Mansion is located at 17 Meeting House Lane in Southampton. For more information, call 631-283-2494 or visit www.southamptonhistory.org.
