After hosting weekly workshops at The Surf Lodge in Montauk for little ones all summer-long, Camp SoulGrow is inviting all ages to join them for an End of Summer Fundraiser at The Surf Lodge.
“We are so grateful to be finishing our 6th summer and starting our 6th fall/winter season!” Camp SoulGrow Founder London Rosiere shared.
The soiree will take place on Wednesday, August 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
“Join Camp SoulGrow at The Surf Lodge where we will celebrate our gratitude and fundraise to keep growing!” Rosiere encouraged.
The family friendly fundraiser will offer loads of entertainment. “There will be live music by Nancy Atlas, unlimited beer by Montauk Brewing Company, food by The Surf Lodge Restaurant, silent auction prizes, kid’s arts and games, sailing, bounce house, and much more!” she noted.
Camp SoulGrow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, year-round creative workshop camp offered locally in Montauk and Hampton Bays, as well as in New Orleans, that aims to “inspire children’s growth from the inside out.” The non-profit hosts donation-operated volunteer workshops and adventures that provide a place where little ones can test out new interests and discover new skills, strengths, and passions. Camp SoulGrow utilizes members of the East End community who offer their expertise as mentors.
This summer, Camp SoulGrowers have been exceptionally busy with some seriously fun outings, including cookie decorating, sailing, spin art, hobie cats, and kayaking at The Surf Lodge, silkscreening t-shirts at Whalebone Creative, taking on a bootcamp and obstacle course in Hampton Bays, a fishing trip on The Lazybones, yoga and sound bath at Yoga Lila, a visit to the United States Post Office, collaging with Tammy Murphy at Mermaid Beach, making pizza at Primavera Italian Specialties, a pool party at Breaker’s and Lunch at All Day Café, surfing with Austin’s Surf Camp, parasailing with Montauk Parasail, cooking at The Crow’s Nest, a full day trip to Block Island, construction with Conroy Builders, cooking at Showfish in Gurneys Yacht Club with Jeremy Blutstein, and so, so much more.
“$40 donation wristband supports our programming to help children gain self esteem, connect with their community, learn diverse skills, and make new friends,” Rosiere shared.
Rosiere founded the organization in Montauk in July of 2014, and since then it has expanded to three locations, secured a 23-passenger bus that was painted with help from campers – making it easier to take field trips, presented over 585 workshops, and served more than 900 children.
“At Camp SoulGrow we use the community as our classroom and the people and local businesses as our teachers— we believe there is something to learn from everyone!” she added. “We offer limitless open-armed opportunities to help children find self love to strengthen their mental health.”
